On July 13, 2024, Atibuye Emasisweni Foundation reached a significant milestone by hosting Under 9 Games at the Manzini Club sports grounds. This event, part of our Grassroots Talent Identification Program, celebrated young talent and the spirit of sportsmanship by bringing together schools and coaches from across the region.

The event kicked off at 10 AM with each school team donning their team kits, lacing up their soccer cleats, and warming up. The referees’ whistle signaled the start of the games, with matches between Dumisa Metropolitan vs. Nkwalini Primary and Lobamba National vs. Hillside Primary occupying the two pitches.

Throughout the day, coaches worked closely with their young players, fine-tuning their techniques and encouraging those showing great promise. Teams were provided with refreshments to stay hydrated and energized, ensuring everyone had the stamina for their two plays each on the field.

Notable attendees included “Cool Cat,” the celebrated goalkeeper for Manzini Wanderers and Kaizer Chiefs, and Hon. Minister Ndzima, Minister of Sports, Culture & Youth Affairs. Eswatini TV was also present to document the event, capturing the enthusiasm and support from the community.

This event was not just a series of games but a celebration of the potential and talent within Eswatini’s youth. It highlighted the importance of early talent identification and development, perfectly aligning with Atibuye Emasisweni Foundation’s mission to empower young people through football.

We look forward to many more games as we continue to nurture the next generation of football stars in Eswatini. Thank you to all the participating schools, coaches, attendees, and supporters who made this day unforgettable.
